North Central Region Team Standings

The fishing was really good for everyone at Belton this weekend. You could catch fish just about any way you wanted. Texas Rig, C Rig, flukes, etc…

Pat Grimm and Jack Morse make it two wins in a row on Belton. They sacked up 17.76 # with a 5.43 kicker taking the 1st place win and a check for $1030.

David Rosenquist and Jim Harcrow finished second with 14.55# and Big Bass honors with their 6.49 # kicker fish. They took home $674.

Looks like the last tournament of the year at Ray Roberts is shaping up to be a shootout to determine the TEAM OF THE YEAR with 4 teams with a legitimate chance to seal the deal on June 10th.

South Region Team YTD Standings

Saturday, 23 April was the final regular season tournament of the Texas Bass Nation South Region Team Trail.   Thomas Ferro and Ricky Bishop finished in 2^nd place Saturday, earning enough points to move them to 1^st place in the season standings securing the Team of the Year for the 2023 Texas Bass Nation South Region Team Trail.

Thomas and Ricky bested 12 other teams, limiting out in each of the four qualifying tournaments for a total of 53lbs averaging over 2.5lbs per fish.  Team Ferro and Bishop earned free entry to the Texas Bassmaster Open Team Trail State Championship at Cedar Creek Reservoir in September where they will compete for a spot at the 2024 National Team Championship.

Choke Canyon Team Results

Saturday 22 April: Choke Canyon Reservoir was the final regular season tournament in the Inaugural Texas Bass Nation South Region Team Trail.  Teams launched from Calliham unit under partly cloudy skies with light southerly winds and temps rising to the low eighties.

When the scales closed, it was the team of Tom Nillsen and Geno Littlewood standing victorious with a five fish limit of 16.44lb , anchored by a healthy 6.42 pounder.  Thomas Ferro and Ricky Bishop were close behind in second with 15.08lbs and a tournament big bass kicker of 7.29 pounds.
