Poulsen & Poulsen Win Team Event on Rayburn

The day started with overcast skies, drizzle, no wind and around 60 degrees. The sun came out around noon. It felt like a good fishing day. Turns out it was a little tough for some of the teams. Almost every team brought in a limit, they were just small fish. That means the push to bank is ON. The bigs are not far behind.

However, Chad Poulsen & Carl Poulsen made the most of an opportunity and brought five fish to the scales that went 16.34 lbs. Carl also had the big bass of the event that went 6.40 lbs. They took home $1300 for the win and $170 for big bass. Congratulations Chad and Carl!

Second place went to Ryan Payne and Clayton Smith. Their five fish limit weighed 14.24 lbs. They had a kicker fish as well…you guessed it…6.30 lbs. They were already spending the big bass check until the Poulsen’s weigh in. Dang it!! Good sack anyway guys. Maybe the $700 check will ease the pain a little.

Third place went to the Team of Jason Branham and Ed Grisham who had a five fish limit that went 13.71 lbs. They earned a $250 check that paid for Senkos.

We appreciate all the Teams that participated and look forward to the next event March 12, 2023 on Lake Conroe at April Plaza Marina. See you there!!

Caldwell & Katajima Win Team Event on Stillhouse

2/4/2023: Saturday started cold and foggy which delayed the take-off a little. But the fog broke and left the guys with a sunny day in the high 50s and a brisk SE breeze. One limit came to the scales out of 15 teams. They were definitely being tight lipped that day!

Congratulations to Steven Caldwell and Kazuki Katajima with Denton County Bass Club! They took first place with 4 fish that went 10.19 lbs, all about the same size. Steven had another one on and lost it so they would have sealed the deal a little tighter if he had gotten that one in the boat.

Second place, and the only five fish limit of the day, went to the Team of Randy Knight and Michael Curtsinger. Their five went 9.84 lbs again all about the same size. It seems that red lipless cranks did the trick for them.

And in third place was Justin Bullard and Jarrett Dehart with two fish that went 9.45 lbs. Their sack was anchored by the big bass of the event at 7.31 lbs.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks for getting the North Central Region Team tournament trail off to a great start!!

The next NC Team Tournament will be on Cedar Creek Reservoir at Log Cabin Boat Ramp, March 11, 2023. Grab a partner and get in on the competition!!

Event #2 is in the books! Huge congrats to Rolando Nandin for securing the win and big bass! Jacob Moeller got 2nd, Ote Shaw got 3rd, and Jesus Reyes got 4th! The south wind made things pretty hairy at the end of the day. We had and angler flip his kayak and was not able to recover […]
