Team Northwest Region: Fairchild & Wimberley Win on Ivie

Posted on February 15, 2026 Written by Brent Stafford

All 19 boats got in the water on O.H. Ivie with 55 degrees and no wind before safe light. And then the rain started….with an accompaning wind. Yes, it got kinda miserable for the guys real quick. The rain didnt stop until around 1 pm. And on queue, the wind kicked up to 15 mph just before weigh-in. Thanks Texas.

There was only one five fish limit in the field that day. The Team of Patrick Fairchild & Wyatt Wimberley from Broaddus, TX (Sam Rayburn) had a 19.12 lb sack to take first place. That bag earned them a check for $1688. It took them a couple days to figure something out on a lake Patrick had never been on and Wyatt hadnt been on since the water gin clear. They found the right ones on bluffs using their electonics from The BassTank. Their lure of choice was a NetBait watermelon red lizard flavored with Bait Fuel. The cast had to be just right or they wouldnt take it according to Wyatt. Their Halo rods  helped them put it where it counted. Congratulations!

Second place went to the team of Mason Bryan & Jason Gaston. Their four fish bag weighed in at 14.04 lbs and included the big bass of the day at 5.12 lbs. Their second place check netted them $800 and Jason’s big bass check was $190. Great job gentlemen!!

Third place, and another four fish bag, went to the Team of Randy Formby & Austin Hammon that weighed 11.71 lbs. Third place paid $400 and got their entry fee and some gas money.

Thanks to all the TEams for fishing with the Texas BASS Nation Team Division and look forward to seeing you in March at Lake Buchannon.

Fontenot Finds Them on Toledo Bend

Posted on February 9, 2026 Written by Brent Stafford

The 2026 Club Division Southeast Region Individual Trail held their second event of the 2026 season, Saturday February 7, 2026, on Toledo Bend out of the Six Mile Public ramp with 73 anglers competing. Due to multiple other tournaments slated for the same day with the option to trailer, this was designated a trailering tournament. Pre-tournament talk had a lot of anglers stating that the fishing conditions were downright tough, this writer included, but some were reporting catching them on deep grass edges around points and channel swings.

At the conclusion of the weigh-in Vidor Bass Anglers Association member Kyle Fontenot had topped the field with five bass weighing in at 18.21 pounds. Kyle stated that he was fishing mid-lake in the back of a deep creek “stroking’ a rattle bait off the bottom in 8-10 feet of water, he was targeting a bare spot in the grass off a secondary point where it met a little a drain, he caught all of his fish in the one spot and had his weight by 10:30AM.

Brian Jones with The Bass Club finished second with a five bass limit that weighed 15.73 pounds. Brian states that he targeted creek channel edges in 15-23 foot of water, focusing on brush piles and timber with a drop shot.

Vidor Bass Anglers association member Taylor Weldon finished third overall with a four bass tipping the scales at 15.00 pounds, including the second biggest bass of the tournament a 6.87 pounder. Taylor said he targeted grass edges near deeper water. He started out the day with an umbrella rig which yielded his big fish and another one close to four pounds, but once the wind died down, so did his bite. He then resorted to a ½ ounce Carolina rigged fluke style bait and finally at around 2:30 PM he caught his third and fourth keepers off a grass point near deeper water, but he was never able to catch that elusive fifth keeper. Taylor would like to thank County Home and Outdoors for keeping him rigged and ready with everything from service work to electronics, and tackle.

Glenn Miglicco with American Anglers caught the Big Bass of the tournament a 9.70 pounder, Glenn caught his fish on a wobble head jig off a hump in 20 feet of water. Glenn’s Big Bass is currently in the lead for the Southeast Region Big Bass of the Year.

Robert Royal with the Vidor Bass Anglers Association won the Senior Division side pot and finished 6th overall with a 5 bass limit that weighed 13.81 pounds and American Anglers member Glenn Miglicco placed 2nd in the Senior Division and 9th overall with 2 bass weighing 11.39 pounds.

At the conclusion of the weigh-in we had drawings for 1st and 2nd out of the money, as well as for an Edge Rod for all participants, but you had to be present to win. Aaron Slaten won a Accu-Cull Transom Tote, Mark Grissom won a couple of Accu-Cull Dropshot Bait Weight Holders and Brian Jones took home a nice Edge Rods spinning rod.

We would like to thank the regional clubs that provided members to serve as tournament volunteers, as well as the Southeast Region Directors for their assistance in conducting a smooth tournament.

The Southeast Region next individual event is on March 14, 2026, on the Lake Conroe out of April Plaza Marina.

The Northeast/Southeast Region Texas Bassmaster Open Team Trail will host their second event of the year on Saturday, February 28, 2026, on Sam Rayburn out of the Caney Creek boat ramp. For more information go to Team Trail NE/SE Region Tournament Schedule.

ANDERSON AND DANIELS TOP A FIELD OF 24 TEAMS TO WIN SQUAW CREEK

Posted on February 9, 2026 Written by Brent Stafford

Winter storm Fern created numerous date changes to kick off the 2026 North Central Texas Bassmaster Open Team Trail.  Not only did we have several date changes, but we also found ourselves fishing with a large Nation youth tournament.    The Youth Director did a great job organizing their tournament with the number of teams to launch and return.   Even though the ramp congestion was a sight to see to make weight-in, our region once again got to the scales in a timely fashion.   Thank you all!

Instead of ice, sleet and single digit temps on the original date we were met with a shorts and flip flop kind of afternoon.

The field was bunched up between 11.50 lbs – 13 lbs with good numbers caught in typical Squaw fashion.

The team of Jose Ramos and Duane Crenshaw brought a 14.72 lbs limit to the scales for 4th place and $300.00

The team of Shannon Stanley and Cameron Stanley used a combination of baits up shallow that included senkos and Hag’s Prickly Pears and put together a 15.22 sack for 3rd place  and $480.00

Steven Caldwell and Craig Rowley spent their day committed to the C-Rig in all depths to muster up one of two 16 lbs bags.  Their 16.18 lbs limit included a 5.01 kicker that took home $960.00

Topping the field was the team of Terry Anderson and Curtis Daniels with 16.56 pounds and the big bass of the day of 5.34.   The winning sack was achieved with a trio of baits that included dropshots, shakey heads and some early topwater bites.    Anderson and Daniels earned a $1,960.00 payday!

Congrats to all the winners!!

Up next in the N.C. Texas Bassmaster Open Team trail is Lake Grandbury Feb. 28th.

Stop #2 Canyon Lake – Kayak Division

March 17, 2026 By DaShon Peck

Event #2 is in the books! Huge congrats to Rolando Nandin for securing the win and big bass! Jacob Moeller got 2nd, Ote Shaw got 3rd, and Jesus Reyes got 4th! The south wind made things pretty hairy at the end of the day. We had and angler flip his kayak and was not able to recover […]
