Allen Takes the Lake Tyler Event in the NE Region

Posted on April 13, 2021 Written by Brent Stafford

NE anglers,

Lake Tyler on Saturday Gave up a 15.44lbs. Lone Star Lunker…I saw Her She was a True Giant.

NE Texas BASS Nation Tournament is 4/18 at “Lake O’ the Pines”, Boat ramp  Cedar Springs.

Be in the water by 6:30AM weigh in at 3:00PM

However on Sunday we had 31 NE BASS Nation Anglers Looking for their Lone Star Lunker But it Happened to be less than a third of the size.

A cold front came in Sat night and lowered the water temp some 8 degrees and gave us a nice stiff North wind which made it a different lake form Saturday to Sunday.

It was Feast Or Famine as I thought Tyler Fished Much tougher on Sunday as only four limits were brought to the scales!

Michael Allen who took 1st place with 5 fish that weighed 14.69lbs. and Big Bass at 4.15lbs. was enough to best our group.

Kenny Moore came in 2nd with 12.36lbs. and second Big Bass 4.14lbs. a drop of water short!

Chad Petrie was 3rd with 11.67lbs.

Colton Harvick was 4th with 11.56lbs.

Jeff Lugar was 5th with 9.33lbs.

And last check went to last years Tournament director Cecil Tubb with 7.79lbs.

Standing are on the TEXAS BASS NATION web site. www.texasbassonline.com

I want to thank Randy Kvapil for weighing our fish and being a dedicated Tournament director!

Also Keep Coy Fraizer in your Thoughts and Prayers as he is going to have Bye-Pass surgery later this week!

Thank you,

George Bryan

SE Region Double Header on Rayburn

Posted on April 2, 2021 Written by Brent Stafford

Visit the SE Region Tournament page to see individual tournament results.

The SE Texas BASS Nation held its 3rd and 4th events for the season on famed Lake Sam Rayburn. With over 100+ anglers on both days. March usually promises big females and big bag weights and the lake did not disappoint for some. There were multiple patterns but there were a few that lead the field. The lake was on the rise leading up the weekend and also a few cold fronts as normal this time of the year. Saturday turned out to be a warm day, mostly cloudy and little breeze. Sunday on the other hand had to be a trailering event due to extreme high winds and possible rains.

Saturday 3/27/21:

Saturday we had a great turn out of anglers. The winning spot went to Gary Robin with the Vidor Bass Anglers Association. He had the winning weight of 20.21 lbs and also the honors of Big Bass of the day with a 9.52 HOG that anchored his win. Gary stated he locked his rod in hand setup with a plum apple wacky worm and targeted shallow cypress trees some button willows, mostly solo trees on points.

Second place went to Justin Royal with Vidor Bass Anglers with a stringer of five that went 17.90 lbs and kicker that went 6.75 lbs.

Third place went to Pete Bruener with Nacogdoches Bass Club with a limit that topped the scales at 17.55 lbs. and a kicker that went 6.11 lbs.

Sunday 3/28/21:

Sunday’s overall winner was Albert Collins with Nacogdoches Bass Club. His five fish stringer that went 17.76 lbs. Albert targeted inside grass lines and bushes with a frog and a Thunder jig.

Justin Royal with Vidor Bass Anglers took big bass honors on Sunday with an 8.13 lb kicker. “I was targeting irregularities in the grass throwing a 6th sense 4.4 divine swimbait”.

Second place went to Derrick Shoffitt with Nacogdoches Bass Club. His limit tipped the scales at 17.64 lbs. Derrick also had second place big bass for the day with a kicker that went 7.44 lbs. “It looked bigger than that”.

In third place was Ed Grisham with The Bass Club. Ed’s limit of bass went 17.16 lbs. His big fish was 7.32 lbs.

Next up is April 17th on Lake Palestine launching out of the Villages. I would like thank our sponsors, Jordan Pro Fuel, Swagger Tungsten, Seagar Line, Fish Monkey apparel, 13 Fishing, and Impulse Rods.

North West Region Kicks Off at Brownwood

Posted on March 23, 2021 Written by Brent Stafford

March 13th & 14th, 2021

The Northwest Region held its first two tournaments of 2021 on Lake Brownwood March 13th & 14th. Anglers were met with strong winds on both days but with water temps nearing the magical 60 degree mark the fish were biting.

Last year’s Angler of the Year Grayson Morrow continued to shine winning both of the one-day events! On Day #1 Grayson brought in a 5-fish limit weighing 17.91 lbs to take first place. Glenn Hahn was close behind with 17.31 lbs for second place. Third place went to Bryan Schmidt with 16.43 lbs. New member Derrick Ard had Big Bass with a nice 6.97 lb largemouth.

On Day #2 Grayson Morrow once again took first place with 17.53 lbs. Cade Wilson was second with 14.04 lbs and David Zak came in third with 12.65 lbs. Big Bass for Day #2 was a 4.82 lb bass brought in by Lewis Decker. We had nice participation with 35 anglers fishing on Day #1 and 30 anglers on Day #2.

The next two tournaments are the ones everyone are looking forward to as we visit the red hot O.H. Ivie in April!

Event #2 is in the books! Huge congrats to Rolando Nandin for securing the win and big bass! Jacob Moeller got 2nd, Ote Shaw got 3rd, and Jesus Reyes got 4th! The south wind made things pretty hairy at the end of the day. We had and angler flip his kayak and was not able to recover […]
