2025 Southeast Region Team Standings

6/8/25: The 2025 Southeast Region Team Trail made their final stop of the 2025 season, at Toledo Bend out of the Sam Forse Collins Boat ramp on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Toledo Bend was a little over half a foot below full pool. The weather cooperated and gave us a partly coudy morning followed by afternoon sunshine.

Wesley Johnson and Tracy Adams bested the field with an impressive five fish limit that tipped the scales at 24.01 lbs. And yes, they hda the big bass of the day with a 9.62 lb kicker. Beautiful fish! All their fish came in ten feet of water and they culled several times. They also shared that the predicted bit window was spot on that day, between 10 am and noon. So if you have ever been sceptical of moon phases and feeding times you might want to give it antother chance. Of course, if you hav’nt located fish. which is my primary challenge, moon phases and feeding times are irrelevent.

Second place went to the Team of Terry Service and Eric Green. They too had a five fish limit of healthy fish that went 18.13 lbs. They declined to weigh a big fish when I asked them saying “we only have a 6 pounder”. That contributes to a frustrating day when you’ve already seen the 9.62 big fish weigh-in. Terry and Eric were fishng 100 yards from Wesley and Tracy and confirmed the bite window. It has merit guys!

Third place went to the Southeast Region Team of the Year Tye & Mark Grissom with 9.97 lbs.. These guys have been the most consistent through the year which is the key to success when in the running for a yearly award based on points. Congratulations to Team Grissom!! They say they will be back next year to defend their title!

Thanks to all the Teams that fished with us in the SE Region! See you at the Team State Championship Spetember 12-13 on Cedar Creek out of Gun Barrel City!!

Club Division: Southeast Region Season Finale on Toledo Bend

Posted on June 10, 2025 Written by Brent Stafford

6/10/25: The 2025 Southeast Region Individual Trail made their final stop of the 2025 season, at Toledo Bend out of the Sam Forse Collins Boat ramp on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Toledo Bend was a little over half a foot below full pool. In visiting with the anglers on Friday evening, practice had been downright brutal. However, as we always say, someone figures them out.

The Bass Club member Wesley Johnson bested the field of 55 anglers with a limit of bass weighing in at 14.89 pounds. Wesley was targeting channel swings and a hump with coon tail grass in 10 to 12 feet of water with a Carolina Rig.

Jason Branham with the Katy Bassmasters finished second with a five bass limit that weighed 12.76 pounds, his bag was anchored by the second biggest bass of the tournament, a 3.98 pounder. Jason said he had found a couple of offshore spots in practice that were holding fish, but that he was hoping to catch a few shallow fish on Saturday morning around the shoreline grass, however, that did not work out like he had hoped. He quickly abandoned that pattern and returned to his offshore spots and luckily the fish were still there. He had found them on Friday with a flutter spoon but could not get them to bite it on Saturday, so he resorted to a Carolina Rig and if he drug it through the area just right, they would bite it. He says he just rotated between the two locations, until he had his limit and was able to cull once. It was tough, so he was thankful for what he had.

The Bass Club member Wesley Baxley finished third overall with a five bass limit, tipping the scales at 11.65 pounds. Wesley states that he started on an offshore school with a 6XD and was able to catch 3 keepers doing this and then he spent the rest of the day targeting brush piles and offshore stumps with a drop shot and was able to fill his limit and cull once doing that.

Tracy Adams with The Bass Club won Big Bass of the tournament with 5.38 pounder.

Roy Johnson with the Seven Coves Bass Club won the Southeast Region Big Bass of the Year side pot with a 9.90 pounder caught on Lake Conroe in the March tournament.

Vidor Bass Anglers Association member Ryan Watkins captured the highly contested Southeast Region Angler of the Year title, edging out fellow Vidor Bass Angler member Dustin Berry by mere 7.04 points.

The Bass Club won the 2025 Southeast Region Club of the Year title.

We would like to thank our Southeast Region Director Tye Grissom. Tye has done an outstanding job in his first year as Region Director. I would also like to send out a thank you to Ed Grisham, Jason Branham, Gary Robin and Justin Royal for their efforts in making the 2025 season a success. And last but not least a special thank you goes out to our Texas B.A.S.S. Nation Vice-President and Vidor Bass Anglers Association member Garrett Smith for all of his help at every tournament.

Lynn and Grissom Top Finishers On Lake Buchanan

Posted on June 3, 2025 Written by DaShon Peck

A little bit of everything from mother nature for Sunday’s Individual Trail, conditions went from overcast windy, to calm sunny, to windy with lightning throughout the day. Twelve anglers worked everything from ned rigs to crank baits and when it was said and done it was Ira Lynn atop the podium. Ira brought five fish to the scales for 16.99 pounds, including a tournament BB winning 5.03 pounder. Close on Ira’s trail, Tye Grissom brought home a full creel of 15.56 pounds.

Stop #2 Canyon Lake – Kayak Division

Event #2 is in the books! Huge congrats to Rolando Nandin for securing the win and big bass! Jacob Moeller got 2nd, Ote Shaw got 3rd, and Jesus Reyes got 4th! The south wind made things pretty hairy at the end of the day. We had and angler flip his kayak and was not able to recover […]
