Wren & Miller Go Wire To Wire On Bob Sandlin & Cypress Springs To Become 2025 N.C. Region Champions In Club Division / Peck Secures Spot On Texas State Team

Posted on October 21, 2025 Written by DaShon Peck

The North Central Region, Club Division, concluded it’s 2025 season on October

18th and 19th with the two day Regional Championship on lakes Bob Sandlin & Cypress

Springs. Two spots on the 2026 Texas State Team were at stake for the anglers

competing in the tournament.

The weekend kicked off with the pre-tournament briefing and complimentary

dinner at Wings Over Mount Pleasant sponsored and paid for by Homage Hospice!

First up for the anglers was Lake Bob Sandlin on Saturday, October 18th.

In the ten days prior to Saturday, including both official practice days, the weather was

in a holding pattern with above average dally temperatures and light to moderate winds,

and not a drop of rain. Of course this had all changed by the first day of the

tournament, when the first fall cold front decided to make an appearance. The anglers

were greeted with overcast skies and 15-20 mph winds from the South with rain

forecasted for most of the afternoon, which surprised no one as the anglers in the North

Central Region know that is “how tournament weather go”. The air temperature was in

the low 70’s and quite comfortable as the anglers were released at take-off. The wind

never let up and steadily increased throughout the day, however the rain held off until

about 1:00 p.m. But when it came, it came hard and fast with the sky becoming eerily

black. As luck would have it, there was a break in the rain just before weigh in, which

continued until just after weigh in when it started up again and really showed out. On

the boater side, it was the 2025 North Central Region Boater Angler of the Year,

Andrew Wren, Tarrant Christian Bass Club, who topped the field on Sandlin with a five

fish limit weighing 10.16 pounds. As angler of the year, Andrew had already secured

his spot on the 2026 Texas state team, which left the battle for the remaining seat on

the state team between DaShon Peck, The Colony Bass Club, and your regional

director, Stephen Farrar, Tarrant Christian Bass Club. DaShon would finish Day One

with 4 fish weighing 5.68 pounds, and a 3.87 pound lead going into Day Two over

Stephen who only managed 1 fish for 1.81 pounds.

The 2025 North Central Region Non Boater Angler of the Year, The Colony Bass

Club’s Chris Demiglio, did not compete thus leaving all three of the participating non

boaters competing for the remaining non boater spot on the 2026 state team. Taking

the lead in that regard would be Jerry Miller, The Colony Bass Club, bringing in a three

fish limit weighing 7.54 pounds, which included the Day One big bass of 3.66 pounds,

and the daily big bass prize of $100 sponsored by Homage Hospice. The second place

non boater, Alonza Brown, The Colony Bass Club, also brought a three fish limit to the

scales for 6.34 pounds, putting him just 1.20 pounds behind Jerry heading into Day

Two. Rounding out the non boaters was Jordan Fudge, The Colony Bass Club, who

had one fish for 1.34 pounds, and putting him 6.30 pounds behind Jerry. Jordan would

have his work cut out for him if he wanted to catch Jerry, but it was still possible since

he would not have to be paired with Farrar on Day Two!

Leaving Bob Sandlin behind, Day Two of the championship was held on Sunday,

October 19th at Lake Cypress Springs. With the rain having moved out overnight, the

field was greeted with crystal clear skies, cooler temperatures, and wind gusting out ofthe north to 26 mph. The mood at the boat ramp was positive and jovial, with the

anglers sharing tales of their exploits from the day before and engaging in plenty of

good natured trash talk. However when safe light rolled around it was all business as

the anglers headed out to go to work. At the end of the day, boater Andrew Wren and

Non-Boater Jerry Miller would be the only two anglers to bring limits to the scale.

Anchored by the big bass of the championship, a 4.20 pound cypress springs toad,

Andrew’s five fish limit weighed in at 12.43 pounds, giving him a two day total of 22.59

pounds and earning him the championship title on the boater side and a check for $252.

In addition to the $70 for the overall big bass of the championship, Andrew received the

$100 daily big bass prize sponsored by Homage Hospice, bringing his total winnings for

the weekend to $422.

On the Non-Boater side, Miller’s three fish limit weighed 6.89 pounds, bringing

his two day total to 14.43 pounds, earning him the 2025 Non Boater Champion title, a

check for $252 and a place on the 2026 Texas state team. Right behind him was

Alonza Brown with two fish for 4.03 pounds, giving him a two day total of 10.37 pounds,

and second place overall. Non boater Jordan Fudge did not weigh a fish and would

settle for third place with a two day total of 1.34. Jordan finished in first place in all four

qualifying tournaments he fished this year, so he will be one to watch.

Regarding the competition for the remaining boater slot on the 2026 Texas state

team between DaShon Peck and Stephen Farrar, it wasn’t even close as DaShon

brought 3 fish to the scales weighing 5.21 pounds, giving him a two day total of 10.37

pounds, while Stephen had 2 fish for 3.59 pounds and a two day total of 5.40 pounds.

Turns out Peck could have stayed home on the second day and still secured his spot on

the state team, while at the same time it looks like Farrar did as well as if he had

actually stayed home! Just kidding Stephen, congratulations on your third place finish.

Congratulations to the 2026 North Central Region representatives for the 2026

Texas State Team! Boaters – Andrew Wren & DaShon Peck; Non-boaters: Chris

Demiglio & Jerry Miller. Good Luck at B.A.S.S. Nation Super Regional Tournament on

Toledo Bend in April 2026!
