North Central Region Report

Posted on June 2, 2020 Written by Brent Stafford

The North Central Region was able to get back to business on Eagle Mountain and Granbury on the 30th and 31st of May. It was a blessing to see all the anglers come out to the these two events. The rain held off for two wonderful days the water on both lakes were badly stained which sent guys in a search for cleaner waters and the summer time boat traffic was to say the least, crazy.

Leading the way was Bryan Albrecht from H.O.T with a 1st place finish on Eagle mountain with a 13.20 lbs. sack followed by Justin Royal from Vidor bass club with a 12.26 lbs. sack and coming up in third was Justin Hallmark from big sandy creek with a 8.67 lbs sack and Randy Fleeman from CenTex bass hunters  with big bass at 6.44lbs.

Day two on Granbury was lead again by Bryan Albrecht from H.O.T. with a 13.80lbs sack and followed by Mike Johnson from H.O.T. with a 12.22lbs sack and taking the third spot was Brain Bastilloz from Centex bass hunters with a 10.41lbs and big bass went to Brian Bastilloz with a4.69 lb bass.

Co-Angler side leading day one was Justin Tatum from Centex Bass Hunters with a 8.01lb sack followed by Jim Justus from Bass club of Fort Worth with 5.34lbs and taking the third spot was Teddy Johnson from H.O.T. with 4.74 lbs. Big bass honors went to Justin Tatum From Centex Bass Hunters with a 4.70lb bass.

Day two on Granbury  had CenTex bass hunters completely leading the field. Leading the way was Dan Watson from Centex Bass Hunters with 10.86lbs. Second went to Tom Teajiron from Centex Bass Hunters with 8.89lbs. In third was Justin Tatum From Centex Bass Hunters with 5.52lbs and big bass was also Justin Tatum from CenTex bass hunters with a 3.25 b bass.

Northwest Region Returns to O.H. Ivie

Posted on May 19, 2020 Written by Brent Stafford

The Northwest Region of the Texas BASS Nation returned to competition on May 9th & 10th at O.H. Ivie reservoir. Anglers were chomping at the bit due to the layoff from Covid-19. With just a few minor adjustments at the weigh-in we were able to follow guidelines for social distancing and keep everyone safe.

Day 2 Winners: Grayson Morrow 1st, Kelly Hudson 2nd, Brandon Soliz 3rd, Jim Brown 4th

Due to the shortened season we held two 1-day tournaments the same weekend. The length limit on O.H. Ivie allows anglers to keep 2 largemouth under 18” with the rest having to measure 18” or over. The “over 18” fish were hard to come by this weekend. On day #1 Bobby Maynard put together a 3 fish stringer that weighed 10.52 pounds for the win. Bobby also had big bass with a nice “over” that weighed 5.00 lbs.

On day #2 Grayson Morrow put the hammer down with a 5 fish limit of overs weighing 20.89. Kelley Hudson brought in big bass on day #2 with a 5.88.

The Northwest Region will finish up our tournament season on E.V. Spence on June 13th & 14th. Official practice days will be Thursday & Friday before the tournaments. Off-limits will be observed from sundown Sunday until safe light on Thursday before the tournament.

Event #2 is in the books! Huge congrats to Rolando Nandin for securing the win and big bass! Jacob Moeller got 2nd, Ote Shaw got 3rd, and Jesus Reyes got 4th! The south wind made things pretty hairy at the end of the day. We had and angler flip his kayak and was not able to recover […]
