Bassmasters’ Creed: I promise to create among my fellow anglers, and the public in general, an awareness of my Chapter’s and Society’s contributions to angling, conservation and outdoor recreation. I will encourage and instruct the youth of my community in the art of bass fishing. I pledge myself to full adherence to all conservation codes and to detect and report any polluter of our nation’s waters.

Aug. 28-29 Lake Palestine we will go out of the Palestine resort Ramp.
Championship Tournament Only – The designated tournament lake will be off limits Sunday at 6:00 PM thru Friday at 5:00 AM in advance of the start of the scheduled Championship period. Official Practice is on the Friday preceding the Championship tournament, beginning at 5:00 AM and ending at 6:00 PM. Paid guides may not fish a tournament that they have guided on the tournament lake in the past seven (7) days. (Fishing Guide Definition – A person who, for compensation, accompanies, assists, or transports a person or persons engaged in fishing for bass in the water of this State) During practice, and during the tournament, a competitor may not have the assistance or advice of anyone for the purpose of locating or catching bass other than another contestant. The purchasing or bartering of information or the hiring of a bass fishing guide within seven (7) days prior to any tournament is prohibited. No skin diving or scuba diving on the tournament waters during official practice or tournament days. No use of CB Radios, VHF marine band radio or cellular phones for the purpose of locating or catching fish. All of the above may be used in the case of an emergency for location purposes only. Each contestant agrees to report any violation of these rules immediately to the tournament director. Failure to do so could result in your disqualification.

This is a late posting but the SE Texas BASS Nation Region held its 5th event Lake Belton on a bright sunny day and rising water where Eric Adams from The Bass Club took the win with 14.49l bs and a 5.66 kicker. 2nd place was Carl Skiles from the Vidor Bass Anglers with 13.28lbs, 3rd place Jason Branham from the Katy BASSMasters with 12.85lbs, 4th place Robert Thierry from Seven Coves Bass Club with 12.09lbs, 5th place David Taylor from Seven Coves Bass Club with 11.71lbs.
The Region wrapped up its season on the famous Toledo Bend Lake on a very sunny and hot day! Brett Cassidy from The Bass Club took the win with 19.53lbs. 2nd place went to Jason Branham from the Katy BASSMasters with a 17.36lbs, 3rd place went to Albert Collins with 17.15lbs, and 4th place went to Kyle Fontenot from the Katy BASSMasters with 13.94lbs, 5th place went to Wesley Baxley with 13.86lbs.
With this being the last Region event we crowned our Angler of the year. The AOY race came to the wire and very few points separating the anglers. The SE Texas Region Angler of The Year went to Wesley Baxley from The Bass Club followed closely by Eric Adams from The Bass Club. 3rd place in the AOY Race went to Gary Robin from the Vidor Bass Anglers, 4th was Albert Collins from the Nacogdoches Bass Club, 5th place was Derrick Shoffitt from the Nacogdoches Bass Club.
The SE Texas Region Championship will be held at Choke Canyon on October 1-2. Should be a great event with all the hydrilla in the Fall!
