Bassmasters’ Creed: I promise to create among my fellow anglers, and the public in general, an awareness of my Chapter’s and Society’s contributions to angling, conservation and outdoor recreation. I will encourage and instruct the youth of my community in the art of bass fishing. I pledge myself to full adherence to all conservation codes and to detect and report any polluter of our nation’s waters.

Panhandle Region Championship Results

Posted on October 22, 2018 Written by Brent Stafford

Four boaters and three non boaters fished the Panhandle Region Championship on a rapidly rising O H Ivie reservoir following a week of torrential downfall rains. The lake rose over 17 feet in a matter of days resulting in a disruption of normal patterns and scattering the fish into newly flooded cover. Fishing was tough for everyone at the lake with few bites reported. However, some one always figures something out and takes home the win.

Day one was led by Camden Lowe with two fish weighing 3.83,  followed by Jeff Woodington with two at 3.76 and Kris Bosley had one at 1.13. SundayKris Bosley had three for 9.64 for the events big bag and a total of 10.77 for the win. Jeff Woodington had one fish for 1.18 and 4.94 total for second and Camden Lowe had one fish for 0.68 and 4.51 total for third. Jim Simpson zeroed for the event.

On the non boater side, no non boaters weighed a fish on Saturday. On Sunday, Daryl Blades weighed three fish for 5.87 and the win. Steve Duncan weighed one fish for 1.14 and second. Mackey Bosley zeroed for the event.

Congratulations to Kris Bosley and Daryl Blades for their Regional Championships and qualifications to the BASS Nation Central Divisional at Lake Guntersville Alabama in the middle of April.

Congratulations also to Jim Simpson as the 2018 Panhandle Region Angler of the Year.

Texas Bassmaster Team Trail Championship – Sponsored by Texas Boat World

Posted on October 22, 2018 Written by Brent Stafford

10/22/2018 1:30 pm Update:

As of 4 pm Friday, Army Corps of Engineers closed all boat ramps on Lake Belton.  The TBTT Championship will now take place at Lake Limestone Campground & Marina on Lake Limestone.  Tournament dates are the same.  Saturday, October 27 to Sunday October 28, 2018.  BBQ will be served at the Tournament briefing Friday evening, starting at 5:30 pm at Lake Limestone Campground & Marina.

Tournament Entry Form

The above entry form can be used if you have not registered your team yet.  However, your entry form and payment must be received by David Glezman by Wednesday, October 24th.

If your team is currently registered and you decide not to fish this weekend, David Glezman & Elton Brock must be notified in writing of your intentions via email by 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 23rd and the check for your entry fee will be cancelled.

We apologize for the short notice but predicting weather conditions and lake oversight authority decisions is a moving target.

The same logic applies to predicting what lake conditions and/or closures for the TBN State Championship, November 16 & 17, on Belton will be.  The BOD is continuously monitoring conditions and is in constant contact with the Corps of Engineers.  Please hold your calls, texts and emails about the TBN State Championship until after the TBTT Championship.

Regards,

Board of Directors
