Lake Limestone May 19, I would call it Lake Mudstone after rain all last week and 4.5 inches on Saturday you could say the water was the color of Yoohoo chocolate milk. The lake dropped 8 inches during the Tournament because the Corps had the gates open. We love fishing in tough condition In our NE Region 🙁!

We had 15 players withChad Petrie of Century Bass Club  taking home the win with 12.56 lbs, 2nd place went toDale Jackson who had some trouble culling and only brought in 4 fish going 11.79 lbs, 3rd place Thomas Ferro of the South East region had 10.18 lbs.

Big Bass of the tournament was caught by Jose’ Ramos4.12 lb who squeezed out 3.92 lb bass by Cecil Tub who also finished 4th in the mud fest!

Attached are the final Standings.

Chad Petrie of Century Bass Club with the Win beat out Jose’ Ramos of Denton Count Bass Club by 3 points for Angler of the Year (AOY) and Jon Harshabarger of Century was only 1 point behind Jose’.

All fishermen please know that our Championship will be, 

September 28-29 at Richland Chambers

Day after another strong cold front which seems normal for a North East BASS Nation Tournament had the fished Backed off a bit with water temperatures dropping to 56 – 60. However everyone brought fish to the scales!

Cecil Tubb 1st.place lead the way with a very nice 5 fish limit that went 17.70lbs. followed by Merle Holcom 2nd place with 3 fish going 15.18lbs. anchored by a beautiful 8.92lbs. big Fish of the tournament. He caught that beast off a double secret brush pile between some boathouses close to a creek. Turn on your side imaging and get busy. Charles Harkless Texas BASS Nation Past President was 3rd place with 13.93lbs.

Lake Belton Water temperature Started at 50.1 degrees and soared to 52.3 degrees that made the bite tough as evidence of the weights brought to the scales. Expected strong winds and rain made for a challenging derby but with all the steep banks and rock formations is was easy to find fish-able water.  

Rickey Bishop Led the way with a 1st Place finish 8.18 lbs.said he was catching them on purple swim baits. (sounds like a fish tale to me)

2nd place Thomas Ferro with 7.37 lbs.

3rd place Jose Ramos with 7.17 lbs.

4th George Bryan with 6.69 lbs

5th Chad Petrie  with 5.93 lbs.

Big Bass 5.37 lbs went to George Bryan  

I will say that Lake Belton should be Awesome for the State Tournament coming up this April 26 – 27, come and join us.
